MY PROJECTS

Check some of the projects I have done and the ones i am working on right now!

Ubuntu Server (Home Lab)

I used my old laptop to setup my own ubuntu server from my home. Since I am not a Fan of cloud services, mainly because any file that you store on them becomes their file too. Hosting a Nextcloud server would be a great way of avoiding big company cloud services. Another service I deployed is Jellyfin. This service is a great option to stream your own media and movies. My server counts with custom domain names and valid SSL certificates for local and remote access. This is the first project that I plan and work completely on my own. I learned a lot and was able to put in practice my skillls.

The technologies utilized in this project include: Ubuntu Server OS, Linux CLI, Docker, Docker Compose, Nextcloud, Nginx Proxy Manager, Jellyfin, Cloudfare DNS, Cloudfare tunnel.

Enterprise Network Infrastructure Planning (Technician Project)

As part of a team project, we were tasked with designing a scalable and secure network infrastructure for a fictional client, "Around the World," a growing company looking to expand by adding two new branches. Their existing network was not suitable for expansion, lacking scalability, centralized management, and proper security measures.

Our objective was to analyze the flaws in the existing network and design a scalable, secure infrastructure that could support expansion while ensuring reliability, security, and efficient resource management. We developed a new network architecture and simulated its functionality using Cisco Packet Tracer to validate performance, subnetting, and VLAN segmentation.

My primary contribution to this project was the virtualization of a Windows Server 2019 Domain Controller using VMware Workstation. I configured Active Directory (AD) for centralized authentication, DNS for domain name resolution, DHCP for automated IP assignment, and Group Policy to enforce security and user management across multiple branches. Additionally, I set up multiple network services to enhance operational efficiency, including VPN for remote access and firewall policies to strengthen security.

The technologies utilized in the project include: VMware Workstation, Windows Server 2019, Cisco Packet Tracer, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Firewall Policies, VPN, VLANs, and OSPF.

Network Simulation

I simulated an Enterprise network on Cisco Packet Tracer. This is a project on preparation for my CCNA. I use most of the protocols and configurations included on the topic list. I am currently working on this project.
